At my place nothing happens (I mean, apart that in MDBU the whole image is seen), i.e. nothing scrolls while in MDBU and moving mouse.

But, maybe that is by design, I am not sure.

You don't see the complete image on MDBU?

Yes, yes, I see the complete image on MDBU. I just thought that in this case MDBU will also be width fitted, but scrollable. This was obviously a misunderstanding. (In my previous post I left open the possibility that it is by design so as it is.)

After trying this out, I'm not sure you can say MDBU allows scrolling a vertically cropped image: while MDBU does allow you to see all parts of an image *at its original size* while MDBU is active, it doesn't allow for vertical scrolling of the underlying, width-fitted, image. Would it be possible to use the mouse and/or image MDBU-position when releasing the mouse button again, to determine a new scroll position?

Yep, agreed. I'll add something...

Hi Don,
In Floating Preview it would be nice to be able to view the pictures and zip through them in the format seen in MDBU (ie., staying in the format seen in MDBU - no frame/no caption waisting precious desktop space and the picture in actual size (fitting the window to image and fitting image to the desktop if the picture is larger than the desktop). I'm not sure if I'm being clear, but it would be equivalent to right clicking (and releasing) on the image for MDBU yet be able to stay in that mode by then using the hitting the space key or maybe the left and right arrow keys (or whatever seems suitable to you) to move on in the folder to view more pictures. Basically, it would be staying in MDBU as you cycle through pictures. Now that would be another "killer" feature on top of your extensive killer features. Why get out of MDBU if you don't need to or don't want to? I know I've mentioned something simialr to this in another thread, but with the new changes to Floating Preview and MDBU, the above would become the logical progression in MDBU features and result in an even better viewing experience within XYplorer.
Thanks,
Ken

I probably understand, but I don't think that many people would find this a killer feature. Or maybe I did not understand...

I don't know Don, but I think it would truely be a killer feature. Think about it...your in a folder of pics (thumbnails) and you right click the first one or anyone to get into MDBU and then staying in MDBU, you are able to cycle through the remaining pics by hitting a key or mouse scroll and then maybe hit escape to exit out of MDBU back out to the thumbnails. You wouldn't have to open the Floating Preview window at all (that's where I messed up my first post, there would be no need to be in Floating Preview at all). It would be like cycling throught the pictures in Floating Point window by hitting a key or scrolling with the mouse wheel, but instead you're in the MDBU mode (a nice clean picture with no caption or frame) and staying in it as you hit a key or scroll. I think when people see it and get to use it they would indeed think it a killer feature and would tend to use it more than the Floating Preview window.
Thanks,
Ken

Ken, you seem to have a problem with window captions that probably not many people share.

want to share my 2 cents, 'cause i'm one of those to prefer things as they are now

: if i want to quickly check image in larger view there is MDBU; if i want to look through whole folder of images there is Fullscreen; if i want to view many pictures picking them here and there there is Floating preview.
additional abilities of viewing images would be good(like all these "fit to .."), but main concept is already good enough.

Well, I suppose I do like to see the pictures frameless and without the caption.

It does allow you to see more of the picture zoomed when the image is larger than your desktop and in addition the frameless no caption MDBU image view has cleaner look to it. As you cycled through pics in MDBU view mode as I described above, the image would be simply centered in the desktop. This option would certaily not prevent someone like eil from using full screen or Floating Preview, but I do think once people were aware of it, toyed with it, they would find themseves using it more than Floating Preview. I hope I'm not being a nag on this issue, I just wanted to re-stress the idea...again.
Thanks again,
Ken
