I have one software program which started out based on DOS 3.3. It was later upgraded to Windows and upgrades were lifetime. I think we purchased the original version back in 1990 for about $100. The program is used in the Ag engineering/agronomy field, so it isn't something the masses would be buying, but it is an amazing and intuitive program.
