Do others agree that a "Reset to Saved?" would be better

Yes, I agree. Although I'd call it "Revert to Saved?", just like what already exists in the Tabsets menu.

EDIT: Thinking about this some more... considering that there is already the menu item "Revert to Saved", maybe the idea about doing nothing and simply displaying a status bar message is even more appropriate.

Yes.. that is what I was looking for!

If you open the tabset that is already open, just "revert to saved" without prompting to reload the tabset. I'd be happy camper with that one along with the scripting so both panes can be opened with a single button.
