If you refer to http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1274 (rename toggles), that doesn't sound too comprehensive nor a full steamed debate.

One of my main points still seems to be not covered, the possibility to have the full extension selected and ready to rename instead of a blinking caret. Neither the user definitions for such behaviors. Neither LittleBiG's requests. So it doesn't make our suggestions invalid at all. And a long or short thread does not suffice if it doesn't covers other propositions, right?

Nope that's not the thread I was thinking of...I did find what I recall (from 2006) by looking for posts in ascending date seq...it's http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1231

Agree - but - as I said before, there's only SO many options you can have with a very limited set of keys and current scheme seems to fit most of the commonly needed situations.

I think "Possibility to have the full extension selected" is what I requested... To put this into the F2 cycle. So if you want to change the extension, you have to press F2 two times (or maybe three times, it depends on coding), extension will be selected, and you can start typing the new extension immediately. Do I misunderstand you?

That's why I'm asking for a wider range of control over both options and cycle sequence itself.

LittleBiG: No, that's what I said on that topic. The two other selection states make the selection easy to deal with. But again sometimes one may want the caret at the start or at the end of each state of the cycle, and preferences regarding it may free us all to get what we need at a given time depending on the performed task.
