Recycle Bin
Edit:
Just in case you didn't notice a post I made in another thread, here is it in part again:
I found some info that _may_ re-energze the admin's desire to attempt to add recycle bin into XYplorer:
How to programmatically use the Recycle Bin

My most-missed feature: Tab-specific tree view.
Other's most-missed feature: Clean menus. The menus are just too full and scary-looking. Especially the View menu.

That would be nice, especially for those of us with 1024x768+ resolutions (most people, in other words).

Cool idea! I won't stop you
There was already the idea of a user-supported did-you-know/tip-of-the-day interface, but a web-based wiki is much cooler!
Wikis are the future. Make things easier for yourself! The problem is that the current help would have to be imported into the wiki, a time-consuming job I don't think anyone can be bothered to do :p

Please don't post any wish that happens to cross your mind in this poll
Let me repeat the initial questions:
(1) What single feature do you miss most in XYplorer?
(2) What single feature do you think others miss most in XYplorer?
1) My wish is definitely for the ability to have two or more panes with different folders. Two would be enough, especially if the panes were "inside the tabs, so that I could have more than one set active, switching between them by switching tabs.

Yep!
Here's where you get a free wiki:

Unfortunately I have no time for it, too busy with the software and the forum. Who wants to set up a wiki for XY and earn a free license?

I realy would like to have all the ini file tweaks in the Configuration interface

I see no purpose to have them only in the ini file.

Yes, absolutely. Before I can do this, I have to redesign the Conf window: the tab interface ain't cutting it anymore. I will do a category tree on the left by which you can select the various configuration sections...

That would be great.

I personally find the tab interface style a bit easier to work with than the tree style...so having more tabs and/or a larger tab panel isn't an option?
And there are some options that, I presume, may relate functionally to each other but may be in separate INI sections...how would that be handled in a tree setup?

I've seen several interface options with a multi-row tab interface -- would that help? (or is it even possible with vb5?)
Just a thought...

I have no problem with a(n always expanded) category tree.
The categorization is as functional/natural/intuitive as possible (a task nobody ever fulfilled, but one can try...), and independent of the actual INI sections.

(1) What single feature do you miss most in XYplorer?
Customizable keyboard shortcuts, perhaps similar to the intuitive way programs like Emurasoft's
EmEditor and
EmFTP Pro, or the way NewsGator's
FeedDemon does it, which also allows you to copy or print your shortcuts (hotkeys). An import/export or the ability to include this in the saved configuration would be great.
(2) What single feature do you think others miss most in XYplorer?
Perhaps the ability to create a shortcut to a file or folder using ALT+drag-n-drop.

Well, not anymore!

Frankly, there's a lot of more thrilling stuff to roll down the Rhine before any of these will happen...
