I'm not disagreeing with you Mesh. It is a long shot. However, if certain users are DESPERATE for extensions to work then they have nothing to loose by contacting developers/getting hands-on. I know that if I was "dying" for a particular extension, I would either get hands-on....or use Explorer.

Oh, agreed. It's better than nothing.

You might get a little better response if you fib a little and not mention '3rd party'. Instead say that there situations where Windows' own 32-bit explorer (or 32-bit IE) need to run on these 64 bit systems, and you'd like the shell extensions to continue to work for those processes.

Note that MS continues to support 32-bit versions of explorer and IE on 64-bit OS's for backwards compatibility purposes.
