I'm using that OS myself with XYplorer starting in less than a second. What security software do you use? Also, how much memory do you have free?

And what (if any) locations do you have open by default on XYplorer's start? Devices/locations like external HDDs and network shares may cause delay...

Are you (CBlazen) working with MiniTree enabled that maybe shows lots of network directories? I experienced a significant (startup) slowdown under these circumstances.

Just to rule out any configuration induced problems: you have the same issue with a fresh (=factory default) "installation" of XY? (Just copy the EXE to some temp folder and run it.)
I have this issue but with 64-bit shell extensions not showing in XYplorer. Tried the fresh copy as above but still same problem. I'm on Win 7 Pro 64-bit.
Hello and welcome!

This is very common question here lately (sigh!). I will try to make the FAQ even more prominent...
Generally I can say there will be XYplorer 64-bit, but not before 2011.

Oh man, that's a bummer. I'm using the trial version in 7-64bit and was hoping to purchase.

It is indeed a bummer about the lack of x64 XYplorer, but I just manage by using 32bit versions of the programs that install explorer context menus. Well, that and some fairly involved scripting =D
But I really will be happy when Don gets a native x64 version out the door, since I've been using x64 versions of windows since the beta of Vista (mid 2006).

Just searched the forums for any word on a native 64-bit version of XY and found this thread.
Want to add my vote for a native version. Hopefully we can get it before 2011. That's a whole 6 months away. The agony!

The issue is that since XYPlorer is 32bit, it cannot display 64Bit shell extensions. This causes an issue because when you install 64Bit apps they often are not providing 32Bit extensions.
The problem then is that it is nice to use XYPlorer as your default explorer, but if you are on 64Bit then you lose functionality by doing so.

That's indeed covered in the
FAQ; it's a well-known issue to the developer. Per the
roadmap as well as several threads in this forum (including this one), a 64-bit version is planned for next year. In the meantime, the functionality of some 64-bit shell extensions can be accessed through scripting as described
here.

Blah, no it doesn't. I use XYplorer a lot n my T510 and previously on my T500 and before that on my T61P all on 64 OS Vista/Win7. I expect your issue is the continually useless windows indexing system. Rebuild you indexes and try again
