adding comments and then trying to do a search doesnt work

Speaking of comments ...

When in the List view it could be very useful at times to get some type of visual feedback or cue as to just which files and folders have comments attached.

P.S. Please don't forget previous suggestion to add a Tab to IP to allow direct reading/writing of comments.

OK, you ask, I deliver. :mrgreen:

Enter this in the Name field on the Find Files tab:
comment:orange cow
Should find all items with comment "orange cow" in the current folder.

Thanks, but I tried it and it listed ALL the pictures inthe folder.
Why doesn't everybody have a great user name like mine?

Yes I did, I am using 8.60.0100
I also want to thank you all for your help
I have tried the script by serendipity, and it also found All the files in that dir! So now I am wondering if I messed up
with adding the comment orange cow and someone have added it to all of the files
I will try further and get back to you

I think the problem is that comment searching was only implemented in .106, and you're using .100. Try the latest beta and see if it works for you.

OK thanks, I tried a few more times and couldnt get the script or the other method to work will try tommorrow as I must sleep now!

I am now able to use and search comments easily using version 8.7 this feature makes XYplorer much better than the competition for working with graphics
