Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Re: Copying file from VMWare Workstation fails
I forgot that there's an undocumented clipboard viewer in XY. Run this script from the XYplorer address bar after you copied your file from the VM:

Re: Copying file from VMWare Workstation fails
XYplorer shows this:
DataObject
CF_HDROP
Ole Private Data
I used this tool:
https://freeclipboardviewer.com/
Here is the saved output:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/plq9fmw8 ... eos9v&dl=0
Not much more than the file name

Re: Copying file from VMWare Workstation fails
It's not an image. It's a special output saved from FreeClipboardViewer, which you can load and then see exact details. do you rather want an image?

Re: Copying file from VMWare Workstation fails
Thanks, that's really useful for testing.
But to me the clipboard contents are mysterious. Seems incomplete. Maybe there is some kind of communication that only works in your environment. Anyway, the next beta (x64) will try to force the pasting to the shell, hoping it knows what to do with it.

Re: Copying file from VMWare Workstation fails
Would that be only if it detects this type of scenario? I would like to keep "custom copy" checked

Re: Copying file from VMWare Workstation fails
You can keep it checked. The solution will (or won't) work in all scenarios, incl. a simple Ctrl+V.
