When using MB, most of the time I have the info panel open to the properties tab. I wouldn't have the preview tab open if I have the preview pane showing. I see that I never mentioned this and it may have eased the confusion.

PS: OK, I get it. Currently, the progress bar in the status bar is not displayed when the Info Panel is open, regardless of which tab is displayed. I will change this: the progress bar will be shown even if the Info Panel is open, but not the Preview tab.

Excellent. Thanks for understanding my "dilemma" and changing the the behavior.

Just updated to 26.70.0003 and the Quick Preview Panel and progress bar is now working as I had anticipated it would.
