Yep, Explorer does the auto refresh.

As for how XY can do same as Explorer... maybe rename xy to explorer.exe, set company to MS, and reverse-engineer their code to figure out how it tells the server its a MS product.

I tried this in my old Explorer replacement (ExplorerXP) and it wouldn't do auto refresh on the net drive, and had no option to do it either.

Or reset the system clock by 1 second each time you access a directory to give the impression of speed.

Your method requires no changes be made to XY... better wikify it before we forget!!
