Previously you referred to the future feature as UDFM, User Defined Folder Mapping's.
Since the feature is similar to symlinks though, maybe Xylinks or similar?

Good point above about similarity to symlinks, so i'd say one of these would be quite descriptive:
- UDFM (User Defined Folder Mapping)
- UDFL (User Defined Folder Links)
- UDL (User Defined Links)
- UDTL (User Defined Tree Links)
[UDTF (User Defined Tree Folders) could be a variant too, but it's already a known acronym for programmers]

UD~ is already known to users by UDC and UDF features, so from a glimpse it shell give a clue "U Define". My preference would be UDTL since feature is meant for tree specifically, as i understand.
P.S. All variant don't demand to search for cool UFO icon and allow much more variants of "linking" thematics. :mrgreen:

haha.

Don't just focus on the structural aspects, there's an emotional side to this as well. These are folders that you use all the time, that you cherish the most. Sort of your jewel box.

Stargate is probably trademarked, what about Portals, or Wormholes or something similar though, Junctures or Junction Box maybe.

I like "Folder fusion" and one more suggestion:

RAT = Rapid Access Tree

If a free "rat" when buying XY isn't included I don't know what people would want more...

Rapid Access Tree, yeah I like that! And the folders in it would be Rapid Access Folders. RAT and RAF. :tup:

You guys are aware of the special Links folder? What would be the difference?

I thought the main difference would be that it isn't a new tree, but new special custom folders like Desktop, Downloads, etc.
