Wow, Ralph, yes that is excellent.

Thank you for the clear help and instructions.

My only question now is how to save tabs for future use in future T4 sessions? And how to close then reopen a particular tab I've constructed.

When I close a tab I create it seems to disappear forever...where do they go? How can I get them back? If they are deleted they should say delete tab not close tab it seems. Perhpa I am not seeing something, but when I close a tab, it's gone and I canot get it back.

View/browsing tabs/show browsing tabs seems to not get back all the tabs.

Please tell me that tabs can be saved between sessions, and how to access all my tabs once they have been closed, and how to access them from one session to the next.

Thank you very much for any other ideas about this.

Well, this actually has never been a problem for me yet, since I keep the tabs within a config always open.

There are two ways to solve your problems:
1. Create different configs with a collection of finding tabs each.
2. If you can fit all the needed information into a find template, you don't need a designated tab to start that search, just load and autostart the find template in any tab available.

As far as I know, there's currently no way to save tab configurations as templates for later reuse.
Ralph :)

You can still "Exit without saving". If your tab has been saved to the INI before you will get it back when you reopen the program.

Okay, I thank you both very much for your ideas about this.

For various reasons I still have not gotten the config to work consistently for me. Just when I think I've got it, I open a config and it opens in a way that is different than how I originally constructed it. I know T4 is working fine, I just need to wok with it some more.

I'm getting the tabs and find templates to work excellently. Wonderfully helpful tools.

But I have so many differnet, diverse search setups that I like to construct...I'm trying to find the best way to be able to just jump to them all and use whtever search setup I want at the moment.

As it is now, it appears that if I could save tabs to be able to grab any tabs I want in any seesion I'm in, that would be best for me...just like being able to go to the saved find templates, where I can scroll through a list and open whatever one I want, regardless of what seesion I'm in.

Any possibility of being able to save tabs in future version of T4, similar to how we can now save find templates?

In this way we could have unlimited tabs saved for use at any time, without having to have all the tabs in one session. We could close all tabs, and then go grab and re-open any specific tabs we want to use. Just a thought.

Thank you very much,

frew

Ok, it's a thought. Please add it to the Wishes forum.
