So to be 100% sure:

You're in that folder. The mouse cursor is not over any file at all. CTRL+A => XY "freezes" for about 25 seconds?

Correct, tried again with cursor on other monitor and same thing and yes, XY freezes with CTRL+A.
Also, tried on another directory that is about 900gb in size which has 902 sub-directories and files within and had no issues with cut and paste, so certain this is on large file selection only.
Did the fresh instance on XY again and no freezing with CTRL + A on those files.

=> Untick this one (leave the upper one ticked): Configuration | General | Refresh, Icons, History | Icons | [x] But only in network locations

Additionally untick: Configuration | General | Refresh, Icons, History | Icons | [x] Enable custom file icons

Use the Type Stats and Filter button again.
Toggle each extension once and do the selection
Show all again with the first entry of the button menu "Show All"

One time for .avi, one time for .mp4, ...
Use the extensions with the largest number of files first.

Does the selecting work flawlessly if only files with that one extension are shown (and this for all extensions that are present in that folder)?

selecting 919 mp4's(318.33GB total) - 20 second freeze/load after selecting these
selecting 831 avi's(235GB total) - 5 seconds to freeze/load after selecting these
The rest was instant.

You probably have this enabled.

Configuration | Colors and Styles | Templates | Status Bar | Use status bar template

Thanks for everyone's assistance on this. For a moment I lost hope but its working perfect now.

Everything feels faster now too, like my entire configured instance feels like a fresh instance
