This is almost starting to look like "user error" or RTFM! I had turned off DUAL PANE for now, as evidenced, I think, by the pictures I sent. (I also have since turned off the BREADCRUMB BAR.)

In any case, YES, when I turned DUAL PANE on, the top pane became COMPUTER, and there were three total tabs in there. So I assume XYplorer showed the lower pain (C:\) and then filled in the default for the invisible top pane. This explains what happened (assuming you can confirm).

FWIW, if I am right about the above and this is a "top-pane side effect," then I would suggest this "top-pane override," at a minimum, should be configurable to turn this behavior off. If the top pane is invisible, it should not override what I see in the bottom pane, which in my case is the only pane. Just my opinion.

I have yet to figure out how to make the "top" pane the C:\ pane, and turn off the "bottom" pane, to see if that is a simple workaround for the effect I want (no "top pane" override).

As it happens, I have to be away from the PC for a while. I'll check back later.

I assume you realize I have been using CAPITAL LETTERS for emphasis. I have not been yelling!

I agree with all, only that I still cannot reproduce it here. :|

I have tried to duplicate it myself, and I cannot. All I can say is I was a newbie (first day) and didn't like the dual-pane stuff or the initial three tabs (I think) that were in effect, so I was fooling around with getting rid of tabs and one pane. At some point (later that day), as I became more familiar with XYplorer, I noticed the 'B:\' thing. It was only later I noticed the full 'C:\' stuff was there but was being replaced by the partial 'B:\' stuff "in the blink of an eye." I am confident there is a mechanism buried in the code that somehow produces the anomaly...and may only present on newer installations...

Alright. Once I see it here I'll fix it.
