After disabling both items:

1. Left pane - can select files and folders, can open a file, opening a folder causes the program to close
2. Right pane - selecting an item (file or folder) causes the program to close. In one case that I cannot reproduce, a dialog box popped up saying "Index out of bounds".

In all cases, there is a system "ding" that sounds, as if there is an error to present although in all cases except the one mentioned above, no error is shown - followed by several seconds of the "busy" cursor, and then the program closes.

Can you show a screenshot of the XY window of the moment before you do the fatal click?

I gave up and went back to 24.00.0600 but here is a screenshot - it looked exactly the same previously.

2) Are you using Configuration | Colors and Styles | Templates | Status Bar?

The same problem with version 24.10
Tonight I will try to uninstall and reinstall Xyplorer (I hope I have no license problems)

Well, I have uninstalled version 24.00.600 and installed 24.10 and everything works well. Obviously, its appearance is very different from the one I had previously. So ... would it cause problems to replace the new XYplorer.ini file with my old file (or perhaps another file)?

same crash situation here. from official 24.00.0700 onwards to 24.10.

Hey people, if you experience these crashes, try a bit more to help Don to pinpoint it - it obviously happens under some very special circumstances. I do not think Windows logs will help much. So, please describe what ware you doing as it happened and - if at all possible, send your Ini-file via private message to Don (Don = Admin, just in case you do not know).

I didn't want to create a separate topic.
XY without settings.
Add to admin.ini the line:
[AccessControl]
DisallowedDirs=E:\Downloads
Save XY settings so that when XY starts, the E:\Downloads folder opens.

Here it jumps to "This PC". I cannot reproduce what you see. Probably other factors play a role.
