I got a file called "Безымянный.jpg". The preview window will show the image but the thumbnail would say "Bad Image" and will not generate thumbnail.
confirmed.
i can use that name in any image and the same thing happens.
also, the preview panel shows the image but none of the image properties (like colors and area).
renaming the image solves the problem.
:? Works fine here.
Can you attach such a file in a zip?

it's not necessary.
it happens with any image file named "Безымянный".
for example, i saved the image with the xy logo at the top of the forum using that name and the same thing happens.
the thumb works in explorer, btw.

i thought this might be caused by my anti-virus, but scanning is disabled on image files.
My shared scripts:
TeraCopy Integration, Tag Manager, Comments Menu, Text Replacer, Image and Media Tools, Checksum Calculator, Video Calculator
only 5 URLs are allowed on the sig...

I asked for it because here it works well with any image file. So it might be the forum software somehow transforms the letters...

Don't you both use the letters from this thread?
And didn't nony say, that saving a file to the same name, with a .txt extension even crashed XY? (Though I'm not sure what he exactly did.) So it seems to me the reason should really be that name?

Just tried to test it here - but copy/pasting this string into a renamed file in XY was displayed as a string of about 12 equal characters :? Seems I'm using a font not able to display that?

i also copied the name directly from the forum.
in any case, here's what you asked:
images.rar
there are 2 images because they have slightly different problems.
the png (saved using "paste as image") shows the preview, but no image info or thumb.
the gif file (saved directly from the site) can't even be previewed.

Wow, I could indeed reproduce it eith the GIF. But not with PNG or JPG. Anyway, should be fixed in next version.

It' not related to images, i think it's due to the name.

As i said generate a report(any files :) ) and try to save that report using Xy with the name I suggested i.e "Безымянный.txt"
XY immediately exits. and I get crash message.

It seems IrfanView has the same problem(4.25). It's unable to open images with this name.

Another interesting thing is the dos name is not valid. It show question marks(Got it from Properties).
If the dos name is correct it's showing image fine(if have valid dos name e.g 55C5~1.jpg).

btw my connection is buggy these days. so might be late response.

What kind of "report" do you mean?

Another problem.
If I select Report->Current Folder->File->Безымянный.txt , XY says report done but I don't see anything at all!

Here are settings used for the previous report generation

Confirmed. These reports never have been adapted to unicode. Nobody ever asked for it. :) Guess it's time now...

Is the fix temporary or permanent?
I see XY having full Unicode support.

Also did you get to check the dos name problems.?

Full unicode reports are on my list for 8.80.

What dos name problems do you mean?

I said Dos names because as I said before, if i copy the image to other place then thumbnail is generated fine. The original file DOS name shows ????? instead of valid alphanumeric name.
So XY might be having trouble reading it. Explorer works fine though.

btw a little glitch, if the MDBU is enabled then thumbnail selection is not changed unless i click the label. i was confused as I kept on browsing thumbnails and when I wanted to see the properties, it showed something else.

Cannot reproduce issue with DOS name.

Short click: change selection
Long click: zoom pops up
