2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

Yeah, good find! Thanks for digging into this. :tup:

I could reproduce and fix this for this Label cell context menu. :)

However, it revealed a related and depressing fact: The menus popped via the new menu buttons don't have any icons when the main menu bar is hidden at the same time. This sucks, and I don't think it's fixable. :(

For me: (alternative menu popups w/o icons) much better than (no alternative menu popups).

@Microsoft: where's the logic in that?

Confirmed fixed in 22.80.0108, thanks Don!

Agree with FileHero, having no icons is still better than a white main menu when everything else is dark. Maybe Microsoft will get around to fixing that some day.

When I look at Win11 and its now useless taskbar my hope is absolutely low.

Here's one from the Good Idea Fairy: What if you loaded the main menu in a window with some wild negative coordinates (thus very far "off screen"), long enough to scrape the icons to load onto the menu buttons?

(OK I'll slink back to my corner now)

BTW I did find an opensource "Fix" for Microsoft's horrible Win11 decision to (for now?) remove the ability to drag and drop onto icons on the taskbar:
https://github.com/HerMajestyDrMona/Win ... TaskbarFix

I've been using this for a while now and it works quite well. There's a nominal delay that was never present in the native D&D but at least it restores the feature (which I use all the time)

Forget it. This thing cannot be freely positioned.

yea for replacing the start menu, OpenShell was my choice, I prefer FOSS. But, I've reverted to the default Win11 features, excepting this D&D deprecation. The above link just addresses that one thing, does it well and is lightweight and Open Source.

@Horst, JLoftus:
Thanks for the tips. I know them (all).

But currently I'm just/still upset with those dumb decisions and hoping for rising pressure once the big companies start evaluation. Time will tell.

By chance, are you running the Insider Preview? There are a number of fixes and new features that aren't in the release channel. I was unable to get the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) working properly in the release channel, but it's working great on the Insider build, now I have a handful of my frequently accessed Android apps right on my Windows desktop.

They've also made some changes to the taskbar, task manager, notepad, etc that aren't available yet in the release build. It's a little bit of a nuisance that every new Insider Build lays down a fresh Windows instance, which for me means Microsoft does me a favor and removes a couple of my Symbolic Links, and re-enables some services I've disabled, but, IMO worth it to get things like WSA working without having to wait for the Release channel.

@JLoftus

No, I've decided to give it at least one year of maturation (some of my DAW stuff is not fully supported yet too). But I wouldn't use Previews anyway.

Regarding mobile OSes: First, I'v tried (and trusted) on Samsung Bada, then I converted to Windows Phone (RIP). After they put it six feet under I've decided to with the ones offering long support by brand: Now, I'm an iOS guy. :)
