Don't like to be a PITA, but sorry...I tried it...and it's back to
v101 again!
V104 is somewhat better but still doesn't and will not work for my needs! I really rely on the XY 'stripe' and the existing color scheme so I guess I'll be stuck in time until an option exists to maintain the
exact scheme that I've come to know and
love!
Your "overkill" mockup was very possibly within my tolerances, if the height of IP tabs were just adjusted down by a minimal nbr of pixels, as they seem (may be a visual illusion) to be taller than the old style, and expecially the stripe thickness...on old, the selected tab and others appear more closely matched in height and have less of a gap between tab top and IP itself.
The other issue I had with "overkill" sample was the variant background of the tab background...it should be same as rest of panel, IMO.

I like the one in 104 than 103. a minor glitch though is the tab resizing and shifting few pixels sideways pushing other tabs when you click on it. i guess it does so to accomodate the bold text. i think it would look better if this pushing of other tabs did not happen.
but overall, i like the new classic. and an option (tweak) to switch between old and new style should make everyone happy.

Ah, you mean old and new classic. Okay, got it.

Wow, great work, Don. I didn't believe that one could further improve the appearance of the Info Panel but you proved me wrong. For me the new Classic Style is even better than the old one.

Well, yes...I saw the description of that but also saw
Code: Select all
If you set it to "Classic" then the Info Panel will like pretty much as it did the day before yesterday. But with selected tabs bold and without yellow ribbon on top.
which meant that I was still unable to get the
true "ancient" classic that I need...ok? I really
want my XY stripe!
Put that with the bold, and I'll be happy! And that makes it very consistent with true tab headings also....
And I also find the need for and location of that option really odd, as I would only expect to use the setting within the "Tab" group of Config, and not within the color scheme...

I'll probably remove it anyway...

and hardcode to new classic (and whenever I find some time I add an option for XP themes style).

I removed that pushing effect (yes, because of bold).

And...will I/we be able to have the ribbon back?
When you're age 50+ (and now have a floater in one eye that makes it somewhat fuzzy), you need all the help you can!

Yippee! I'm using V104 now with that custom option set and it'll do for now...MUCH better than that first new vers...and...I'll admit...I didn't try that new option at first because of the description so presumed that it wouldn't help any, but it did...

Sorry.
Still "going for the gold" however...and thanks for your understanding!
Addendum: I see you put v105 out while I was typing above!
Got it...tried it...and...I'm a
VERY HAPPY user once again! Thanks SO much
