Yes, thay may well be cleaning up that category, given the comments (rants?) that I've made on WP about this...

I'll point y'all to some of them if you can't find them...
Here's the most recent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk: ... er_here...
which was a follow-up to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:151.203.127.31
which was based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia: ... er_here...

Remember that ANY comments I've made are based on MY opinions and may well not reflect the feelings of Don, jacky, or others...
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Wow, you really spend time on this. Much appreciated, man! :D

I think XYplorer's portability alone should grant it a place in WP! As you see here (and even "they" did not dare to remove XY here...) there are only 4 portable file managers mentioned (Dopus portable? hm...) :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_po ... le_Manager
So, it might not be that notable yet, but it does something very notable these days, and which obviously not many others can do... Doing something notable -- doesn't this make you notable?

Hi Guys!
I was off for sometime and I saw this yesterday. It is ridiculous that wikipedia says XY is not notable (its a joke). I am happy that many of you already have mentioned the views I have too. I am simply disgusted by the kind of treatment they have done. I added a lot of jpegs and other stuff in wikipedia and now its gone. XY has so many revolutionary features that one has to make separate categories to include those. I guess JC and others have already dealt with the issue pretty nicely and I really appreciate that. but still i will slam the guys who have done this. I am livid now.

@Don: I understand your agony, we users will put XY back on popularity charts.

edit: Forgot to add this interesting point, if XY was not notable there wouldnt be people trying to crack the license which lead Don to opt for a better, stronger license key. heh.. XY is so notable that people are dying to use it.

Yes, I DID spend quite some time on those comments! Given that I'm still a hunt-n-peck typist and my speed has gone way down now that I'm not doing it as much, I probably spent about 4-6 hrs trying to defend XY there...

On the bright side, I may have caused some other products to get yanked as well, so that may be called a small victory!

At least the latest comments by Echuck215 that I made on his page seem to have been received well...as compared to some of the more disrespectful ones made on original AFD....

This is indeed the next joke! Some days ago I paid CNET for a little promotion. Up to now their only reaction was to remove XYplorer. Well, I guess it's back shortly, VERY shortly...

Another important point concerning XY's allegedly lacking notability: only on 26 Nov 2005 (1.5 years ago) I renamed TrackerV3 to XYplorer!

I quickly compiled some references that may be worthy to prove or manifest XY's notability, I'm sure there are more. Please post them here, if you know of any:

It's there now:
http://www.download.com/XYplorer/3000-2 ... ag=lst-0-1

Although I told them 3 times, they did not remove the stupid tag line "Browse the Internet with various features."

So you don't have any edit control over that tag line? Where do they get it from then?

BTW, you may want to add/update some values on this page, if you can:
http://www.download.com/Donald%20Lessau ... dw_publink

And did you lose some reviews that were there before in this process?

I'd like to know who invented that idiot line, too!

About those outdated values: I filled in the update form 3 times, each time got a "Thank you!", and then nothing actually got updated. I finally gave up. I told you CNET is crap. Now I know: it's crap even if you pay them...

UPDATE: just checked, they do have the new info. That info page is just not yet updated, should happen shortly...

No, they are just hiding them under the link "All versions"... hrmpf...

Yep, seems so. What I need is a fullblown multi-part BBC feature on a Saturday evening. Working on it...

There are people that spend their time designing new icons for XYplorer:
http://j-dott.wincustomize.com/skins.as ... 8&libid=29

Now, if that isn't notability...
