And? Does TGA and MAX work now in preview and thumbs?

ImagePreviewCustomExtensions=.max.tga.

version 5.60.0027

still the same thing, but now it says the same to TGA in the preview.

"can not decode"

:/

Damn, so it's not as easy as I thought. :( Sorry to raise false hopes... I'm still convinced that MAX and TGA is possible when Explorer can show them -- just don't know the way. Needs more research...

Okay, enough of this 3rd party bullshit! I just couldn't stand that it finally turned out that Explorer can preview TGA and XYplorer cannot!

:evil:

So I simply wrote the bloody decoder myself. Here you are: Stand-alone fully portable XY-native TGA-support. And it's fast!

Your Crazy!, and I love it. Damn fine job. Thanks so much.

Only problem is I get this error pretty frequently when selecting tgas.
Image
and then it crashes.

In max, I know that max stores the thumbnail in the file itself. Its not generated on the fly. I have no idea what Im talking about but it sounds right. I guess XY just has to know where to look to see it?

I dont get any error while selecting tgas. i converted bunch of jpgs and pngs to tga format using irfanview and tried reproducing this problem, but i cannot. Could you specify what exactly you are doing??

I think I know what it is. The folder is 28 gigs with over 1,200 images in it. Most are PSD and some TGAs in there. All the images are around 2048x2048. I thought it was because it was just too much for it to handle, but it seems that its just 1 certain kind of tga file. The TGA file is a greyscale TGA file, its doesnt have a RGB, just greyscale. I have several of these and these particular TGA files always reproduce the crash.

here is a tga file that makes it crash
