XYplorer 14.5 thumbnails not showing whole image

Well, I must join the chorus as well...I also had encountered the problem not so long ago, found the solution somewhere on the forum but the problem is back now! :-(

In my case, the thumbnails are both stretched out and cut-off!

I've tried all the solutions I've found in the forums: changing the size of the thumbnails and then resetting them [didn't work]. Installing the latest script and refreshing...any other solutions to offer!?? :-(

I just want to be able to use it as in Windows Explorer, just select a size and not have to worry about the native resolution of the image.

BTW, the 'Preview' view in the Info Panel (F12) is fine on the other hand!

What do you mean by stretched out? Distorted out of shape? Or surrounded by black frames?

If script means ThumbnailMaintenance - refreshing won't help, you have to choose "Delete and Rebuild", then select the size of thumbnail you want to rebuild. Note that all other sizes will be deleted, too. You cannot delete just the size that doesn't match anymore. Don't run the same sub-script multiple times on the same folder (or you will keep deleting what you just rebuilt). Instead, choose "Rebuild" after running "Delete and Rebuild"

Stretched out...imagine the photo being printed on a sheet of rubber and you pull it...it stretches, right? Anyway, here's a screenshot to make it completely clear. You'll see the 1st photo is the same as shown below in the Info Panel and looks fine there. You'll notice parts are missing and it's...streched! ;-)

Yes, by script I meant that file that was made available for download in another post and it's in fact called THUMBNAIL CACHE MAINTENANCE. Becoming desperate, I had already tried what you mentioned with 'Delete and Rebuild' and in both the upper panel and lower panel so Foreground and Background...to no avail I'm sorry to say :-(

But I must point out that it seems to be mostly that one folder. I've tried a few others at random and they where ok. Still, I'd just like to know the solution for now and in the future when it happens again.

Try toggling "Super-fast thumbnails" and "Enable shell thumbnails" in Tools->Config->Thumbnails
Rmeember to refresh thumbnails after each toggle. (View->Cache->Refresh thumbnails or Thumbnail Maintenance->Build Thumbnail Cache (current folder only))

I'm not sure if it just reset itself correctly after a PC reboot or if it was a toggle you suggested that did it because I hadn't checked before doing the toggle.

Anyway, again a great thanks to this stellar community here on the forum! Again, problem solved quickly and efficiently! Thanks to all involved :-)
