Code: Select all

+++ Portable Devices: Step 1 of many steps to come. You should now see your
USB-connected portable devices in the folder tree (in Maxi Tree; they
won't automatically show up in Mini Tree). Right-click menu on them should
work as well. That's it for now.
Works over here (Lumia 830, WP 8.1 "Denim"). :D

Fastest test ever.

It makes sense to change the thread title to reflect the official feature naming, e.g. "Support for Non-Drive Devices [Portable Devices]"

Happy New Year!

Cheers,
Filehero

The new beta version 14.80.0004 with the device support sucks! I plugged a portable coffee maker into the computer and ran:

Code: Select all

::makecoffee
and it did not do anything!!

 I'll think about it. Actually there should be user-defined custom devices...

Should it work regardless of the MTP/MSC setting in the device? Because my Android 4.2 doesn't show up.

What kind of device is that? Does it show up in Explorer?

Speaking from personal experience: where are you looking for it? :ninja: I was looking for it in the mini tree and in "Computer", but then found it under the "Computer" toolbar btn, and also in the maxitree.

Just another explicit feedback: I don't see it in "drives" view under MyPC. IMO, it should also be shown there with the official release.

Ah ah, ok! Loaded a fresh XY, and now I can see my phone in the MaxiTree and in the breadcrumb dropdown. I have MiniTree constantly on, and I thought I would see the device in My PC tab and in the rightclick menu when clicking on the My PC tree node.

Another question: the device is visible only, right? Not browsable yet?

Correct. It's a LOT of work...
