I don't know when this drag/drop url feature was initially added but noticed and started using it a couple of versions ago.
Then with adding tags and comments it is a good bookmarks manager by adding the folder(s) to my catalog.
The only issue is whether XYp was started to run as admin or not. One way allows it the other doesn't.
Can't remember at moment which.
Win 7.

Not allowed if XY is running as admin (unless the drag source app is also running as admin)

Yep, that is it. Thanks.
Reason I couldn't remember, I wasn't at my PC when I posted.

For me, except the admin thing, it works fine with Firefox and Pale Moon.

In the meantime, is there a convenient workaround to copy a URL shortcut to a folder using XY? Or is it easiest to run WE?

In the meantime? It's fixed in the meantime. Just drag it from the IE address bar.

Quick. Thanks!

BTW, best file manager I've ever used.

BTW, where drops from browsers do work, here's a super-useful half-liner by Don:

Code: Select all

::download("<get drop>",,"i");
[src:viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9308#p86780]
I immediately made it a catalog item.
