That is good news but please avoid utilizing Windows previews since they fully depend on the installed apps, thus completely going against the aspect of portability.
Also, speed wise, through a series of tests I can conclude that uLister is much faster. Try viewing a large PDF in both.
For instance, if I want to preview a word perfect file using Windows preview, I would need Word perfect installed. That is not the case with uLister.

If preview is within Floating Preview window, you can position it wherever you want - even on another screen.
Though I sometimes find it strange that people prefer looking left/right for 50cm instead of looking up/down for 15cm.
And for this monitors are made wider and wider, selling less area for more inches
(and paying for inches
)

I think it makes sense, actually. It feels more natural, more in line with our everyday eye-vision, less of a tunnel view. Glancing sideways in the blink of an eye is more common than say, checking traffic that comes from above or below, unless you're a pilot
Most sidebars contain information you don't want right into your face all the time, but rather as a side-kick (pun intended).

Haha yeah it's pretty common to look more to the side which is why considering you want as much vertical space as possible so for those other information, it's typically put on the side. But yeah... I had made a thread on this topic but sadly Don had not replied to them yet... *goes into a corner*
It's mainly would be nice if the floating preview supports whatever the preview tab supports. Then you can drag it anywhere. If I remembered correctly, it was discussed a few times in random threads as well including here haha.

Actually I find horizontally wide preview quite useful, as most of the the time it's used for text snippets, and sometimes movies (but movies just keep getting wider and wider
)
just my 2 paise.
