Thus far I've not come across any file where XY's listed length differs from what WMP or similar shows...BTW, if you would want to make an alpha vers that I can try out here on a few files, I should be able to take a few min to do so...

Okay, thanks. That should be enough. I'll try to add that in 0041...

I just tried out v40...I'd humbly but definitely suggest a change backwards on one minor item: Showing VBR/ABR with decimals, as that is now inconsistent with all other software that I use to work with these type of file...I think this falls into the "too much information" category...

No problem, I don't seem to have any VBR MP3s (apart for XY testing) so I don't care anyway.

I'm afraid not... just tried with the same file, still 1:39 and now plays fine up to 1:39 as planned, when I start from beginning.
But if I scroll where I want, and I try at the very end then it says 1:50 ! (as it did before)
There's some new behavior though: when I click somehwere in the middle, the scrollbar is actually set more to the right than my mouse pointer is. On the very left it's ok, but the more I go to the right the more the scrollbar position goes more to the right than it should (almost like if for XY the scrollbar is set to go up to 1:50; while its right-border is at 1:39).
I set it to 1:04 and started playing, and it was not 1:04 on the song but before than, around 8 seconds before that I'd say. And when reached 1:39 XY just stopped there, while the song was not finished yet!!
Funny how it seems to way the other way around now, I mean used to be I start playing in XY at 1:12 but it's 1:04 in the song ; so alreayd a 8 seconds delay, but its reversed now (still 8s, but in the other way).
Edit: I actually liked it way better before, not only cause it played the song till the end but I also noticed that now, it will sometimes just stopped playing, like that, in the middle on the song, for no apparent reason

Just now had a chance to try it on my 1:26 file at 72VBR...it played until about 48 secs...when progress bar is above the "V" in Vol...and then just abruptly quit! (that file was one linked in the first of 3 links in my earlier posts)
The 84VBR one still only plays for about 56 secs...however, it seems that the progress indicator is a bit more accurate for these two now, given that where they stop is proportional to total time....but they still won't fully play out...
Also, when I attempt to set position via up-arrow, it stays to the left of arrow by a varying amount, instead of moving right up to the arrow...
On the 84VBR one, if I try to position at extreme right end, the furthest it will go is :56 30ms, which matches where it quits playing, I presume.

Okay, I uninstalled my Codecs and, voila, could reproduce the issue! The next fix will be better...

Now I
am happy with MP3 preview on VBR!!!
That 2nd attempt works just fine on my test files!!
They play exactly as long as listed length...and can set position as desired.
THANKS MUCH!!!
