I don't know how feasible will this be to do or if it is possible just now with setting the appropriate search

I have created a small category to show ratings with boolean OR. If I untick all of them, it lists the complete tags database. It will be cool for it to show only those that are non rated.
Ratings.png
My search patterns for individual entries are simple: Rating:5, etc and Location in the main category as * /t

I understand, but that's logically difficult. There is no clear way to infer that functionality.

You better simply add another search item that gives you all un-rated items.

I thought so but didn't knew the background working. That's always an option and will do that.

Edit: This thing just struck me. The main category having an extra field for search criteria. This would be used if none of the checkboxes are ticked.

Edit 2:
* Click and Search: Now, when no item is ticked clicking the CAS category
will run s search for "" (nothing). This makes particular sense in a /T or
/L category because it will list all items in the database without a Tag
or without a Label. Before, it would have listed all items in the database
unfiltered.
This works for tags /t, but not for labels or Extra Tags. This works for Labels (/L) and Tags (/T) but not for /t (which is actually good as it prevents the listing of all items in the tags DB when no items are ticked. :appl: :appl:).

I don't think with this implementation it would be able to cater to Extra tags as the items in CAS can be hetrogeneous. An extra option field should be the solution for the extra tags

Edit 3: I was sleepy, didn't check properly last night

[doesn't warrant new topic|inspired by catalog search category]
Search category has a nice icon. Why can't normal categories be iconified too?
Tried this as category caption, didn't work:
Tasks|<xyicons>\stickynote.ico

Icons do work on category items though.

Since my earlier post got convulated with lots of edits, posting it again.

Can the main category have an extra field for search criteria. This field will be optional and will only be used when the category is clicked with all items unchecked.

The /L and /T works but not for Extra Tags (/t). As the categories can have hetrogenous items, I think only this extra field will be able to cater it.

Don,
I don't mean to be pushy on this, however; when I reread my earlier post, the last edit can be interpreted as it works but that's not what I meant.

Phase 1 is completed now. And I don't really understand. Got an example?

I'll check that...

I will explain with this screenshot. The first table shows my data. Five files with a combination of Tags, Labels and Rating
CAS.png
The second table has the 3 Click and Search categories with 2/3 items underneath it. I have mentioned the location parameter in the same column. And then the next columns show what output would we get on clicking each of the item individuallys, clicking category with all items under it ticked / with no items in it ticked

All good except the Red block, I would expect it to show me the two files in tags database with no rating - New York and Paris but it shows as empty.

I understand the difficulty with /t is that it can any of ex1-ex5, tag, labels or comments unlike /T or /L which is only for tags and labels respectively. So I propose to add just one more optional field in the CAS setup where we can mention the fallback search - this would be used only and only when the Category is clicked without any of the items in it be ticked. So, the expected output can be desired for me by entering something like Rating:""

Could you send me the full location string that leads to the red block (i.e. the Address Bar contents)?

OK, in the next beta (v14.00.0116) import this catalog as category (right-click | Catalog | Import Catalog...). :)

Thanks. That works. But how can I include multiple patterns.

How can I write This PC?"" /fld=rating /t to achieve something like this

This PC?:Tags: Images and Rating:"" /fld=Rating /t
