Well, now I think "Extra Tags" is better since it is shorter and appears even a little more correct semantically. What do you say, English men?admin wrote:Thanks everybody. I'm very fine now with Custom Columns.
So, it is deciced:
1) Extended Tags
2) Custom Columns
If they are simply additional tags as exist now, then Extra would be ok -but- I thought they had some unique attributes, thus Extended would be better to distinguish them from Standard/Basic tags.admin wrote:Well, now I think "Extra Tags" is better since it is shorter and appears even a little more correct semantically. The default column names would be "Extra 1", "Extra 2" etc. which is also better than "Extended 1", "Extended 2"...
unique attributes? Yes, but I did not talk about this yet in public.j_c_hallgren wrote:If they are simply additional tags as exist now, then Extra would be ok -but- I thought they had some unique attributes, thus Extended would be better to distinguish them from Standard/Basic tags.admin wrote:Well, now I think "Extra Tags" is better since it is shorter and appears even a little more correct semantically. Not yet in public? I just readadmin wrote: unique attributes? Yes, but I did not talk about this yet in public. What are you thinking of then?
in your OP and that's what I got from it...there was something in there which made it seem different from existing setup so thus I conclued they were separate and unique as compared to existing...ok?The tagging system will be extended by 5 user-definable fields/columns. The user can freely name the columns and enter file-specific information into them (just like into the Tags and the Comments columns). So you have 5 more freely definable sortable data fields for all files on your system
How about a combo of those: eXYtag for extended XY tag?binocular222 wrote:eTag™ works for both case
XYtag™ better?
I think it would sound more like 'sexy' without the 's' but I agree it has a good sound and is unique name (good for marketing!), plus short as well...same syllable count as "extra tag" and 1 less than "extended".binocular222 wrote:pronounced as "ex-xy-tag" sound sexy as well!
