My first attempt with ActivePresenter.
I started to do an "openwith" tutorial, but
totmad1 beat me to it, so I made this instead.
XYplorer User-Defined Commands. An example.
Same movie on Screencast.com (
.webm, better quality, original size)

Possible downside of that site vs YouTube is requirement for certain browsers as in
http://www.screencast.com/help/?id=498 -- My IE8 fails so may be safer to use YouTube links for maximum user compatibility.

Is the screencast link reliable?...
Oh Yes, it's
Techsmith's own hosting site, and the viewing quality is excellent. But there are a few problems.
1/ I've cancelled my pro account, and my free account only permits 2 GB of bandwitch/month.
2/ The
ActivePresenter .mp4 requires QuickTime

and the AVI's requires a WMP plugin in Firefox. Thats why the last tutorial is produced in
.webm. The problem in IE is easily solved with the
WebM codec, but this is of course an obstacle. The
Camtasia mp4's
doesn't have that problem.
So for max. compatibility, you might wanna go with YouTube, and suffer the lack of quality. I just uploaded to Screencast, to show how it should look.
An idea
We could upload the movie files, so you can create your own XYplorer channel on YouTube/Screncast, or host them youself.

That would probably be the best thing to do, but I have no time for it.
So, for now I will link to youtube for maximum compatibility (and minimum emails about non-compatibility).
Thanks again!

OK; I added 3
Regmos videos to the features list:
http://www.xyplorer.com/features.php
Not sure about the
totmad1 stuff -- it looks a bit small and is hard to read.
@serendipity: Can you point me to the links of your videos at youtube?

I watched a couple of them and noticed that (at least to me) they might benefit from an occasional slide/balloon explaining what will occur next in general...something like "now we're going to do x using y before we do z" etc...showing tips of what click to use or such is good but giving an overall reason for a set of steps may help explain it better...just a suggestion, ok?

I was thinking about asking this topic to be made "sticky" as I believe this is a subject that all noobs
are interested in.
I have had an experience in which the developer, of another piece of software, had a vidclip which was useful
but missed a piece of information (I found a users vidclip had the missing info ).
So if anyone can produce a better vid I challenge them to do so as I would like the best to be on the "Features".
I am not trying to say that it is not helpful but it's easy to critique harder to actually commit to action.
Now I have had my rant here is a tute on Branch View.
Even I learned something from producing this.

XYplorer Tutorial Branch View: Why the final Shift+Click on Name column? Does it change anything?

I am slightly surprised that you didn't know that by doing a shift click on that secondary
you can reverse order within the seperate folders.
It was one of the things I learned from testing ready for creating the tute.
