Not to confuse. I meant this as a very broad statement toward ALL file managers, none in particular. Maybe there are others out there I'm not aware of, but all that I've tried in the past have the Tree on the left side of the window. I was thinking more along the lines of "The Tree has always been on the left side and the way it always will be."
Better phrase may have been "file manager purists"??

I hate to mention this again, but I don't think you may have seen my post earlier in this same thread since it was a follow-up edit.
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 90#p105451 I was hoping you could include the Menu bar (on/off) in the layout configuration loads and saves such that save and load layout includes everything. Again I don't care about Menu Bar being in the "Window" menu like Toolbar, Status bar, etc. I'd just like to be able include it along with the other layout attribute saves instead of having to check it's status and set it individually. Thanks,
Ken

Indeed I have not seen that. I'll think about it.

Thanks Don for considering, it's really the only layout aspect that's not included with loadlayout SC command so it would make it all-inclusive.

Well, I have changed my mind about it. Indeed it seems more natural to have it the other way.

Dragging dividers? The priorities of Cat/Tree/List?
Glad you changed your mind. Actually, I had wanted to ask you for a use case for your scenario because I just couldn't come up with a good one, when I asked myself "but why?"
But then dropped it, was busy, and it didn't bother me personally, anyway. New users, however, will thank you for conforming to the "more natural" way of doing it. Right decision, IMO.

Checked or unchecked, it will confuse some until they understand.

Yes, IMO okay. When you first center the list and then move it all the way, you see that it makes sense.

Let me try it again: What should it look like when you put the list in the center?
