Deleted the SimpleUpdater.ini and found IF($count>20){.
Waiting for new beta to try the change before changing the count to 40.

Strange -- this one has stopped working for me. Actually, I should say that it all appears to be working fine (i.e. the proper changelog is displayed, and the proper version number is indicated on the button and in the vbs file), but when I tried to update to 11.70.0000 and then (today) to 11.70.0003, the file that was downloaded in both cases is still the 11.60.0210 zip file (though it is named to reflect the version that it *should* be, the actual file itself is the older version).

Any idea what's up?

Yes, the url is set to 11.60 instead of 11.70. No time to investigate this.
Anyway, for me this script is dated now, Marco and I have been working on newer version which was kind of approved by Don because it shows you the beta page directly, so less anxiety for upgraders.
Meanwhile use this interim release until weekend or so when Marco and I release a newer, faster and better version.
