It's a bug, but as a workaround simply set it to
Last State.
Perfect. Glad to see it was easy to find. Thanks for the work-around.
Now to take it out for that test drive.

Drag 'n drop via right-click/hold or left-click/hold doesn't work dragging to a tab or to any directory in the tree. Both left and right click/hold works to the Windows desktop. If you still have my ini file from yesterday, please give it a try.
EDIT: Context menu copy/move and paste works as expected.

Additional drag 'n drop issue...
Dragging a desktop icon that is a file of any format, or opening a zip file and dragging the connects to a tab or any directory in the tree does not work. The result is that nothing is copied or moved to the destination.

Many drag'n'drop functions that does not work with .0204 works now with .0205
(ex: dupplicate/create backup on the same folder (ctrl+left mouse) does not work on .0204 but work now with 0.205)
v26.90.0205 - 2025-03-08 13:27

Probably because .0205 isn't a tB build.

The title bar should have something more visible than the addition of 'TB' to the program name.
This would be useful for those doing side-by-side tests.

Agreed. Next time.

To further aid on which version I'm using:
VB version dark mode; TB version light
VB version normal XY icon; TB version a different XY built-in icon (orange face) on the taskbar.
I've set a separate folder for my XYplorerTB with all the trimmings. I didn't just plunk the TB exe into the current folder.

Good ideas, klownboy.
Did you copy the entire
VB directory directory where the portable VB version of XY lives to a new location and added the TB exe to it and run from there?
Thanks.

What do you mean by "VB directory"?
Wait, you mean the XY directory of the VB version?
Edit: As far as I understood it, we can only run the TB version as a portable version for now. So, look at the portable notes, if you are not sure: at the bottom of this page:
https://www.xyplorer.com/download.php

I worded that poorly. I will edit/correct the wording.
Yes, the directory where the portable VB version of XY lives. I've only run the portable version since day one.

Then yes, just copy your portable XY folder and exchange the VB exe with the TB exe.

Earlier in this same thread I mentioned what I did...
viewtopic.php?p=227941#p227941, which was basically copy my original (portable)
XYplorer folder "D:\Tools\XYplorer" and subs to a new
XYplorerTB folder "D:\Tools\XYplorerTB" with the exception of my huge thumbnail folder.
Edit: For info, if you do something similar to what I did above, you can still do an update of XYplorer (orig VB version) (i.e., XY will update the original XYplorer.exe (if you still have it co-existing n the XYplorerTB folder) and it will update any other files like xyplorer.ini required for the new beta/change (which is probably a good thing) and it allows you to have slightly different configurations like dark and light modes etc.

klownboy and autocart - thank you both for clarifying.

I should have mentioned above that the drawback of having XYplorer (VB) and XYplorerTB in separate folders is making your own modifications (e.g., if you do something as simple as changing the icon for a CTB or modify a script, you have to make sure you do the same for the other XY folder).
