Have you updated XYcopy.exe? I have not yet added internal version check... it should be v1.00.0013.

I see XYcopy's version number displayed in Configuration > File Operations?

Selected files in the list and DnD'ed them onto one of my drives.

Simple left-button d'n'd onto different drive (from source drive)? Did the operation appear in the Status Log?

Yes to both, from an internal HDD to an external USB HDD.

Cannot explain. :? Can you reproduce it?

Sure, started a transfer of roughly the same volume of date between HDDs and XYplorer's main window locks up with a permanent busy mouse cursor on mouseover onto the window.

I've tried copying 4 GB between two partitions on the same HD with 8.90.0009 beta without encounting this bug.

When copying between internal HD's (SATA instead of USB) or "within" your main HD, does the same problem occur?

Yes, it does. Copying from one internal [physical] SATA HDD to another internal [physical] SATA HDD results in a freeze of main XY window. The dialogue pop-up showing the transfer of files is accessible and minimisable/maximisable to/from taskbar, but main XY window has gone kaput.

By way of eliminating the obvious: when performing a similar operation with Windows Explorer, how does WE behave (both in terms of UI as well as CPU usage)?

To be clear, I use Windows 7 x64 myself and I can't reproduce your report. If the above doesn't show something weird, it makes it unlikely it's something outside XYplorer like storage drivers or security software.

Using WE is smooth as a baby's bum. Nothing out of the ordinary on the CPU front and GUI is completely free for me to do with it as I wish.

How is the responsiveness of the Windows Shell UI (the standard Windows status window shown in response to XYcopy.exe's calling of the Shell API)?

Do you mean the transfer progress dialogue window that shows up when I transfer files? It's accessable, expandable/shrinkable, minimisable/maximisable -- in other words, it works fine.
