Well, I think I can leave it ungreyed. The relation is logical and easy. With the same argument I could grey out List Centered when the Catalog or the Tree is not visibile. I rather let the user experience the effects and understand the idea.klownboy wrote:Not sure if it's a bug. Remember what he said in Beta release notes about List position taking priority. I get Tree on the left left, List (dual) in the middle and Catalog on the right without the Tree and Catalog Stacked being checked. When it comes down to it, as grindax mentioned above, when choosing 'List Centered', 'Tree and Catalog Stacked' should become greyed out" since it really doesn't apply.

Well, you know your users better than I do. XY may be catering to a more "experimentally-inclined" bunch than other managers. Again, no objections from my side. I got it worked out, so hey... nothing to whine about.admin wrote:The relation is logical and easy. ... I rather let the user experience the effects and understand the idea.
However, it doesn't exactly facilitate trouble-shooting when you have Catalog and Tree spread apart with a setting that says "stacked".

Re: Tree and Catalog as separate columns
No problem here. I just look at it as "Tree and Catalog Stacked when together" or "Tree and Catalog Stacked when confined to a single pane" so they won't be stacked if the List is centered.admin wrote:Well, I think I can leave it ungreyed. The relation is logical and easy...

Tweak LayoutSP=4 was removed?
How do I make Tabbar take the whole screen width (above Tree)?

Sorry, but I have no time to support this anymore. Only a handful of users probably ever used this.

Hi Don,
does the "new" layout engine offer additional options, for instance, "tabbing" catalogs?
Cheers,

Well, currently not. There is nothing hidden so far.
And I now have to care for other things. Enough layout for now!

Re: Tree and Catalog as separate columns
Still there is room for correcting this window layout function.
Make it centered (Tree-List-Catalog), then try to adjust the dividers by dragging them to the other devider. TreeList divider cannot push the ListCatalog divider, but the other way around can.
The bug-like thing happens after you click on the Catalog First option. (Catalog-List-Tree) Now dividers cannot push each others. Grab the ListTree divider and adjust it to create the most narrow List pane. Grab the CatalogList divider and try to drag it right. Strange thing happens.

Sigh. Yes. Long way to perfection.

Re: Tree and Catalog as separate columns
Indeed. Create and save a "List Centered" layout, where you resized the dividers. Change the layout to "Catalog First", move the dividers randomly. Try to load the saved layout. The Tree panel will be narrower than it was when it was saved.admin wrote:Sigh. Yes. Long way to perfection.
