Correct
No more comment? Is it not possible? Or is it too heavy or just too time-consuming?

Download the latest TrackerV3 BETA version (v4.00.0089, 20-may-2005).

Code: Select all

v4.00.0089 - 20.05.05 19:37
+ Find Files, Name & Location: added checkbox "Boolean logic". Now
you have to check this box to use Boolean operators like "&", "|",
      "!", "(", ")", " and ", " or ", "not ". Leaving it unchecked allows
you to use these characters in the search term without escaping them
      by a prefixed "\".
Note that this has nothing to do with wildcards (*?#).
For example, find all files with something parenthesized in the
      name ("Exact match" off):
        "Boolean logic" off: (*)
        "Boolean logic" on: \(*\)
% Improved the quality of image preview by using a better shrinking
algorithm. The preview is now much smoother (just like the
thumbsnails already are), which is especially notable when you
preview line drawings (which is why I did it). Drawback: loading
an image into preview takes about 2x longer now, but I think it's
      worth it.
! Changing the state of "Include subfolders" and "Follow folder
links" checkboxes was not remembered between sessions when done on
      a finding tab. Fixed.

The tabs look much better now. But they still differ a lot from XP tabs. XP tabs are higher, have rounded corners, have dark borders on all sides and have a hover effect.
Just look at the tabs of the properties menu of files. Don't you think the tabs look a lot of smarter? I don't know if all tab properties are possible. But I think that the dark borders are very important.

Download the latest TrackerV3 BETA version (v4.00.0086, 13-may-2005).

Code: Select all

v4.00.0086 - 13.05.05 13:39
+ Selected Tabs are now hilited (golden top lining).
+ Thumbnails: now size of original image is optionally displayed
on the bottom of each thumbnail. There's a new checkbox in
      Configuration/Thumbs.
+ When you abort creating thumbs you now are offered to cache the
thumbs created so far (so that you can later continue with
      creating the remainder).

+ Find Files, Exclude Folders: added a Change button. Double-
clicking an item also raises the Change dialog.

Download the latest TrackerV3 BETA version (v4.00.0080, 06-may-2005).

Code: Select all

v4.00.0080 - 06.05.05 10:22
+ Added embedded manifest file: now you got XP style controls (only if
      you have XP, of course).
+ When you switch between classic and xp style or between different
color schemes the tabs which are set to default colors now adjust to
      the current.
    * Info Panel, Report tab: changed buttons to normal style (no icons).
    * Info Panel, General tab: removed the frame, less is more.

Download the latest TrackerV3 BETA version (v4.00.0072, 05-may-2005).

Code: Select all

v4.00.0072 - 05.05.05 19:39
+ Image load time is now shown in image preview's info section.
! "Track..." entry appeared twice in shell context menu under WinME
and probably Win98, too. Fixed. Uncheck and recheck the checkbox in
Configuration/General to remove double entries if you got them.

This was just a little fun experiment... the main BETA line is still without XP-styles. I'll come back to it when I have some time... 8)

I think it worked just because I haven't changed the system properties like free wrote above.

With the classic style this is not so extreme.

By the way: When I switch between the classic and the xp style I always have to reset the color of the tabs. It would be nice if there would be an option to have always the default tabs colors. The other colors are no problem.
No time for this now, but add it to the wishes section...

Yeah, I like the blue stuff, too :)

free wrote:However--It does NOT work at all when xp is set to "classic".
Yep, same here. I made some tests and I found the problem must be related to the embedded manifest resource. So I out-bedded it and everything works as expected.
So now: if you want to enjoy XP styles you need the presence of [appname].manifest in the exe path: download new exe and manifest here. If that file is not found or if XP is run with classic style or if you do not have XP, the app should run normally in the old style.

(I'm very surprised that it worked at Peter's machine... no explanation for that).

Unckecking it causes tracker-xp to be defunct.

If in addition-System properties>Advanced>performance/settings:
Is selected on: "Adjust for best performance" -as opposed to letting windows manage,
Which leaves all other enhancements check boxes 'unchecked' , the process does NOT work!
It exits on load! (no error)
There's a slight cursor movement and -nothing at all.
Saw this in dependency walker:
GetProcAddress(0x5AD70000 [UXTHEME.DLL], "IsAppThemed") called from "MSVBVM50.DLL" at address 0x7410F472 and returned 0x5AD79011.

Unloaded "UXTHEME.DLL" at address 0x5AD70000.
Unloaded "SHLWAPI.DLL" at address 0x77F60000.
Exited "TRACKERV3-XPSTYLE.EXE" (process 0x234) with code 0 (0x0)
Which does not happen with plain trackerv3.exe/0054
OR when advanced/optimised performance settings are not on

(I recently made these adjustments to free up some 'real-estate' since I'm running Virtual PC, but then again I might not be the only one..)

Really stylish!

Here it DOES work in classic mode and in style mode. But I haven't found a pc with win98 in my near to test it there...

Nevertheless some buttons and the tabs are still old style. But you already told this. Especially for the tabs the xp style is very important because at the moment it is very difficult to see which one is the active tab. At least with the default blue xp style. OT: I was always using the classic style. But now after testing this new version and using the xp style for some time I'm beginning to like the blue xp style...
