BTW is there a way to associate folders with XY? I'd like it alot if when I "open" a folder instead of having it in Explorer I could actually have it in a new tab in XY
nope, works fine for me, whether I "really" delete it or send it to the bin, it's fast.surrender wrote:Just try creating a new folder and press delete. it takes abt 20 seconds to delete that.

Slow delete problem
I just downloaded the new version 4.40.0026. The mentioned features are cool. But one little thing. Just try creating a new folder and press delete. it takes abt 20 seconds to delete that. same if you right click and delete. but dragging to recycle bin deletes it in a flash. i can say for sure this was not the same in previous versions. does anyone has the same problems?? I use Winxp SP2 on my laptop, with 2.5Ghz CPU and 640mb ram.

Yes i reversed to a previous version. Was the same. Rebooted my server witch speeded it up again a bit so it's back "normal". So it has nothing to so with this new version, sorry.
B.t.w. i posted a question the other day here. Specialy for mapped drives with long listings, witch is still mutch slower in XYplorer then in Windows explorer.
It's out of this threads scope so answer overthere, if you wish that is

Indeed. Do you still have the previous version to compare speed?CyGho wrote:Mhhh strange thing.....admin wrote:No, I did not change anything concerning mapped drives.CyGho wrote:Should it be faster for mapped drives also? *** Network Browsing: total rewrite from scratch. NT/2K/XP users are likely to see a significant performance boost in the enumeration of servers and server shares, especially if there are a lot of them in the nethood. Some few users (all OS) will even see the nethood working for the first time ;)

Re: Here's the new BETA
Well I won't say it hurts, but I thought it was nice when selecting files, and then you want to open only one cause you're not sure what it is, you wanna check you're not mistaken, whatever, just open that one file without loosing the selection.admin wrote:No, there's no way anymore to open only the focused file. Does it hurt?
I'd say if it can be back I'd like it, but if it's too much trouble then don't, we can live without
