v12.60.0002 - 2013-07-11 20:31
    + SC report enhanced: Now "Extended Properties" (the complete set of
      available metadata of file) are fully supported using the new
      field {prop:[property]}. Just like elsewhere in the app "prop:"
      supports numeric as well as literal property identifiers.
      For example, the following line double-reports the image
      dimensions for image files in the current list, once referenced
      numerically ("#26") (NOTE: this number works in XP only!), once
      literally ("dimensions"):
        text report("{name} ({prop:#26}) ({prop:dimensions})<crlf>");
      Note that MS made a total mess here so that each Windows version
      has a completely reshuffled set of numbers and keywords. But there
      is help: The line numbers in "Configuration | File Info Tips |
      Show custom file info tips" give you the actual values of all
      available extended properties in your current Windows version.
      For all I know, literal property identifiers are not documented at
      all by MS, so you can only guess, trial, and error.
      Remark: This enhancement means nothing less than ultimate power to
      the report command. A reporter's wet dream come true.

v12.60.0001 - 2013-07-10 14:24
    + Custom Context Menu | Zip: Added command "Add to {parent}.zip".
      This is actually the default with all major archivers (WinZip,
      WinRAR, 7zip), at least when more than one file is selected for
      archiving. Now you have both auto-named targets offered side by
      side.
    ! Dropping images from Chrome didn't always work. Fixed.
    ! File Info Tips: Font properties Bold and Italic were not yet
      mirrored in the tooltips. Fixed.
    ! File Info Tips: The tips for clipped list items did not yet mirror
      the list font. Fixed.

Summary of the latest XYplorer Official Release.

Download: http://www.xyplorer.com/download.php

Code: Select all

v12.60.0000 - 2013-07-08 12:00
    = NEW OFFICIAL RELEASE. Main developments since last release:
  +++ Zip Support. Now XYplorer can add to and extract from Zip
      archives. Zip related commands have been added all over the place,
      including interesting ones like "Drop into Zip", "Paste Into Zip",
      "Paste Extracted", "Paste Zipped", and "Zip Here".
  +++ Zip View. A non-modal Zip preview allowing for fast and easy
      consecutive browsing of Zip archives.
  +++ Quick File View. Now the window can be non-modal so you can leave
      it open side by side with the main window for smooth one-click
      previews of any listed file.
  +++ Adjustable Font Size. Now you can control the font size of all
      interface elements (buttons, checkboxes, labels etc).
  +++ Accessible Tooltips. Now the File Info Tips and other tooltips are
      displayed in the same font and font size as their parent controls,
      i.e. you can have them as big or as small, and ultimately as
      readable, as the rest of the text.
  +++ Display Hash Values. Now the most common hash values for the
      current file (CRC-32, MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512) can be
      displayed.
  +++ Japanese. Added support for Japanese.

    ! Vista and later: UTF-8 (BOM) decoding could have an unwanted extra
      character at position one due to a broken Windows API. Worked
      around.
    * XYcopy: Updated to 2.10.0034.

Change Log for the latest XYplorer BETA version:

Code: Select all

v12.50.0031 - 2013-07-07 13:48
    + Menu File | Metadata: Now the window shares its size and position
      with the Quick File View, and it can be non-modal. If non-modal
      you can switch (using menu, KS, or TB) between Metadata View and
      Quick File View while the non-modal window is open!
      It also shares the setting with QFV. Tick this to have the window
      non-modal: Configuration | Preview | Quick file view: | Modeless
      dialog (In a future version this setting might be removed and
      internally hardcoded to true.)
    * Tweak to enable this: When you use the keyboard to open Floating
      Preview, Quick File View, Metadata View, or Zip View, the focus
      will stay in the main form so you can seamlessly continue working
      with the keyboard in the main form.
        OpenViewsUnfocused=1
      NB: Technically the focus will not stay but immediately auto-move
      back to the main form after the child window is opened.
    * Kind of complementing the above tweak pressing ESC in the main
      form will now close any of the above mentioned Views.
    + Menu File | File Special | Display Hash Values: Added CRC-32.
    ! List | Item Context Menu | Junction | Delete Junction: Did not
      work on special paths (Desktop, User, etc.). Fixed.
    ! SC zip_extract: When called on a non-zip file it would create a
      target folder before noting that there is nothing it can extract.
      Fixed. No folder is created now.
To download the latest BETA version choose a download package: (1) Installer Package, (2) No-Install Package.

    + Font Sizing: Now you can control the size of the "Buttons and
      Labels" font using Ctrl+Wheel over the Status Bar. This is not
      only very practical but also gives you some intermediate
      fractional sizes that the standard font dialog does not offer.
    * MLS: Adjusted a couple of UI elements for Japanese in wider fonts.
    ! SC report: Since milliseconds support was added the command
      returned empty values for {Created}, {Modified}, {Accessed}.
      Fixed.
    * Updated the help file.

    * Configuration | Fonts: Now the Configuration dialog adjusts on the
      fly to new font settings (Buttons and Labels, and Dialogs) to give
      an immediate preview.
    ! MLS: Japanese still did not load correctly when using "Download
      Language File..." or "Select Language...". Fixed.
    ! You could crash the app by entering the invalid font size 0
      (zero). Fixed.

v12.50.0026 - 2013-07-03 16:31
    + MLS: Added number rule <n8:one;2-4;other> for Czech and Slovak.
      Test script:
        ::lang_testnum "<#> <n8:one;2-4;other>", 50, 1;
    ! Add to Zip: Handled folders with dots in the name as if they had
      an extension. Fixed.

Change Log for the latest XYplorer BETA version:

Code: Select all

v12.50.0024 - 2013-07-02 19:41
    * Tweaks ListDetailsColumnsSpacing and
      ListDetailsColumnsSpacingLeft: Now they are not taken to be hard
      pixels but a factor n that will be realized relative to the font
      width in the list (n * width(" ") / 3). In other words: Now, when
      the font gets bigger, the padding gets bigger as well, so the
      proportions stay in perfect harmoxy, uh harmony.
    ! Floating Preview and Quick File View: Dialog position was not
      correctly retained when the taskbar was placed at the left or at
      the top of the screen. Fix #2.
      Note: Now you can move the taskbar while XY is running and the
      placement will still be alright.

Change Log for the latest XYplorer BETA version:

Code: Select all

v12.50.0023 - 2013-07-02 10:15
    * SC inputselect enhanced: Now you can show generic icons.
      Syntax: inputselect(header, listdata, [separator=|], [style=1], _
                  [cancel], [width=600], [height=400], [windowcaption])
        style: 8 = show generic icons (just from extension, files need not exist)
      For example, offer to extract items from the currently selected zip file:
        zip_extract (, "", inputselect("Check Items to extract to current folder", _
            replace(zip_list(, "|", 0), "<tab>", ""), "|", 11,,,, "<curitem>"), "|");
    ! Message Box: After an unfortunate sequence of actions a state could
      be reached where the three-button message box would not react
      anymore when pressing the first button ("Yes"). Fixed.
To download the latest BETA version choose a download package: (1) Installer Package, (2) No-Install Package.

Change Log for the latest XYplorer BETA version:

Code: Select all

v12.50.0021 - 2013-07-01 20:40
    + SC zip_extract enhanced. Now you can extract particular items from
      a Zip.
      Action: Extract items from a Zip archive.
      Syntax: zip_extract(zipfile, path, [items], [separator="|"])
        zipfile:  Path/name of Zip archive.
                  Can be relative to current path.
                  If empty the current file is used.
        path:     Target path.
                  If the path does not exist it is silently created.
                  If missing the path is auto-named from the zipfile
                  (suffixed on collision) and created below the zipfile.
                  If empty ("") the current path is used (= Extract to
                  Here).
        itemlist: List of items to extract.
                  Paths are to be given relative to the Zip.
                  If empty all items are extracted.
        separator: Separator of items in itemlist.
        return:   Target path.
      Notes:
      - XP behaves differently from Vista and followers when items in
        subfolders are copied:
        - XP: Source subfolders are auto-created in the target folder
          before items are copied (like XY's "Rich Copy").
        - Vista: Items are all copied flat to the target path (with
          possible collisions).
      Examples:
      - Extract "XYplorer.exe" from "E:\Test\ZipTest\xyplorer_12.50_beta_noinstall.zip" to "D:\XY\":
        text zip_extract("E:\Test\ZipTest\xyplorer_12.50_beta_noinstall.zip", "D:\XY\", "XYplorer.exe");
      - Extract Test\a\b.png from deep.zip in the current path. XP: target
        folder "Test\a\" will be created if necessary:
        text zip_extract("deep.zip", "", "Test\a\b.png");
      - Extract two same-named files from one archive. No problem under
        XP; under Vista you get a collision prompt:
        text zip_extract("deep.zip", "", "test\a\a.png|test\b\a.png");
    * Configuration | Fonts | Buttons and Labels: Now the size of this
      font is configurable. Use with care since larger sizes will surely
      mess up the layout.
      The tweak InterfaceFontMilliSize is hereby raised to UI.
      NOTE: The section "Configuration | Fonts | Dialogs" will probably
      be removed in the next version and subsumed under "Configuration |
      Fonts | Buttons and Labels".
    * Factory default font under XP is now Verdana for all interface
      elements apart from the main contents. Verdana is wider than the
      previous Tahoma thus more suitable in the era of big screens.
      Exception: For screens of 1024x768 or smaller Tahoma is kept as
      default font.
      Tahoma stays default font for the main contents (Tree, List etc.)
    * Factory default font under Vista & Co is now Segoe UI for all
      interface elements and for the main contents.
    * Tooltips in the main window now follow the font settings, i.e. you
      can have them as big or as small as the rest of the text.

v12.50.0020 - 2013-06-30 15:33
    + Now you can tweak the general interface font size. The size is
      stored as millisize (to avoid issues with fractions and locales),
      so to get a font size of 9.75 you enter 9750:
        InterfaceFontMilliSize=9750
      Use with care since larger size will surely mess up the layout.
      Reset to 0 to return to the default value:
        InterfaceFontMilliSize=0
    ! Zip View: Fixed a couple of Vista/Win7 glitches. Now all
      extensions are shown and the path is shown relative to the Zip,
      not absolute as before.
