Is there a way to cause the inactive pane to browse and scroll to where ever the active one does (but keep it's own view settings)??
I'm working a lot with PNG icon sets. I like to have the same set open on both sides, but one side be View = Details, and the other side be View = Thumbnails #1.
Menu > Panes > Sync Browse ?

Re: Menu > Panes > Sync Browse ?
The "scroll" part does. But if I browse to (i.e. open) another folder, the inactive pane gets left behind....nas8e9 wrote:Panes > Sync Scroll, seems to work like that?

Re: Menu > Panes > Sync Browse ?
It does. The current manual way is to use Panes > Go Here in Other Pane (which can be added to a custom toolbar button); I suspect that automatic synchronised browsing could come with Custom Event Actions (which, like all wishes currently, is some way off).kunkel321 wrote:The "scroll" part does. Re: Menu > Panes > Sync Browse ?
Can be done through scripting.
Look at e.g.:
focus
tab()
#813 -> Turn on sync scroll
#304 -> List view
etc....
Ofc you have to press a button / keyboard shortcut to achieve the effect...

Re: Menu > Panes > Sync Browse ?
Very nice! Thanks for adding this!admin wrote:Sync Browse added in recent beta.
Since you're on this topic, would it be possible for the scrolling to be synced as "percentage of window scrolled" rather than "number of page-downs?" Here check this video... You can see that there is a discrepancy....

Re: Menu > Panes > Sync Browse ?
I just added something nice: When in Sync Browse mode then do automatic "Sync Select": When you select "A.txt" in pane 1, then "A.txt" is also auto-selected in pane 2 (if it exists there). Really useful with different sort orders, or differing file listings, or different view modes.
The problem: the term "Sync Select" is already used for something (similar but) different in menu Panes.
1) Are you interested in this feature? (you should)
2) Should it be optional? (probably)
3) How should I call it then?
PS: What about Auto Sync Select?
