Tool Bar Short-Cut/Favorite Folder Icon
Tool Bar Short-Cut/Favorite Folder Icon
Hello,
I am looking for a simple way to add an icon to the toolbar to open a frequently used folder.
Please see the attached screen capture of xplorer2 which allows this.
The big idea is to have button which does not shift around at all.
Only a few of these would be desired.
Thanks,
Jay Zebryk

Re: Tool Bar Short-Cut/Favorite Folder Icon
Wonderful!
1. This was exactly what I was looking for. Thankyou for pointing the way!
2. FYI, I was only looking for a simple "Easy" button. Listing this under "Smart Dropdown Buttons" eluded me as it embraced functionality way beyond my objective. Perhaps for other persons not so sophisticated it might be listed/documented better in future? I see how powerful having the lists is, but in my case I just wanted to quickly change to my central directory without any options, or importantly, any decisions to make.
3. It works but I have trouble with giving the button some name. (Any name.) Leaving the field blank; no problem. However, when giving it a name (Foop) and using the identical path directive (Just to the root C:\ for test.) it throws the error attached.

Geez, I deserve an auto-facepalm.
Is such minimalistic syntax documented somewhere?

Re: Tool Bar Short-Cut/Favorite Folder Icon
Ok, I'm getting it...
Name is NOT a LABEL for the Button Icon but a command!
Script is a collection of functions and commands.
I like it.
Tabs are great but they tend to pile up and get confusing.
The ToolBar Button is(or can be) absolute.
Thanks,
I am now buying a copy.

You can Iconize, Rename, and Lock Tabs, and it will be less confusion.Tabs are great but they tend to pile up and get confusing.

First, a belated welcome to the XY forum!Zebryk wrote:Ok, I'm getting it...
And I've been using XY for some 7+- yrs and I still haven't gotten some parts of it so don't worry if some things elude you for a while! That's why this forum is so valuable!
I am now buying a copy.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Re: Tool Bar Short-Cut/Favorite Folder Icon
Well, strictly speaking it is a label or caption, but since the toolbar currently does not support captions, it is only used as tooltip for the button.Zebryk wrote:Name is NOT a LABEL for the Button Icon but a command!
Script is a collection of functions and commands.
However, in this special shorthand usage it is exceptionally abused as a command.
