Moving Files without turning off UAC
Is there a way to force files to be moved into a directory like Program Files without the error; Destination Folder Access Denied and having to turn off UAC ?

Turning off Custom Copy doesn't work. Windows won't allow me to move or copy a file within a standard account, there has got to be a way around this without logging into an Admin account and turning it off, this is frustrating !

There may be a way to elevate XYcopy.exe using scripting. Should be really simple.
Running XY elevated in the first place should do the trick also.

I want XY to serve soft ice cream. Please Don, make XY serve soft ice cream.

Elevated is not solving the problem as I'm working in a Standard Account. Does anyone have a script I could try, I'm sure it would help many people.

No, there is no other way. "Program Files" is one of those sensible areas where elevation is required. Every "way around" would simply break the underlying security concept. Quite simple - and plain standard for all Unix/Linux systems from their very beginning. I'm very happy that MS finally has caught up here.CookieMonster wrote:Turning off Custom Copy doesn't work.
