A suggestion regarding language interface if all feel helpful.

We are used to accessing the menus using keyboard shortcuts like Alt+T for Tools, Alt+P for Panes etc. in the english interface.

So for each language instead of having a different menu shortcuts like Werkzeuge (Alt + W), Bereiche (Alt + c), is it possible to have something like Werkzeuge(W), Bereiche(C), etc (like it happens for languages like Korean) so that one could use the shortcuts that has been used all these years in the english interface.

I haven't checked the further sub menus. If at all it is different it would be helpful to keep the shortcuts same for long time keyboard power users.

The translator can use "Werkzeuge(&W)" if he feels like. Everything is possible.

Explanation: Technically it would be possible to distribute packages that open in a particular language by factory default. And I might issue such packages, but only on specific occasions. Because: having a separate package for each language would complicate the website and the download process. Users will fail to get the right package and generate more support work. I will have to update lots of packages and lose time better used for coding. And: The current way of loading a language from the interface is so incredibly easy, it cannot possibly get any better.

Don, today I was thinking about the following possible functionality: On the first start after the fresh install (only then) you could do the following:

1. Check the user locale and - if it is <>English:
2. Check if user is online - and if that is true:
3. Check if the translation for that locale already exists and - if it does:
4. Ask (*) the user, if he/she would like to automatically download and activate the language corresponding to the found locale and - if the answer is "Yup":
5: Do that.

(*) These question strings would be locale dependent and hard coded. These strings could be supplied to you from relevant translators.

BTW, it would be a statistics source too. Remember: It would happen only on the first start after a fresh install.

It's a possibility. But the feature is still young. I hardly have any feedback on it yet. It's far too early now to solve problems that nobody ever complained about.

(Most of applications use this way.)

Or users have options to choose which Language File they want to install during installation.

Do you have the impression that Chinese users cannot handle/find the Download Language File command? (But how would they then read the website, find the download button, read the Help file, etc. ... ?)

Der ist auch gut um die alten zu verbessern.

Gerade gesichtet: "Eine jungfräuliche Tabgruppe beginnen." Da steckt Poesie drin. Es muss Spaß machen, mit der deutschen Version zu arbeiten.

Wenn hier schon das neue ITT F11 angesprochen wird... Ist wirklich nett und brauchbar - schade, dass das erst jetzt da ist (für mich, nicht aber für die Übersetzer, die erst erscheinen werden). Für einige Vergleiche wird auch mir noch nützlich.

Aus der Sicht eines Testers (bin eben in dieser Phase) wäre eventuell nutzbar, wenn "Parallel Edit" Dialog mit F11 auch geschlossen werden könnte, wie mit Esc (also Toggeln zwecks einer Schnellkontrolle).

P.S. He, ich habe das Ctrl-Down bei 6KN noch nicht aufgegeben, soll aber drüber noch nachdenken. (Nicht böse sein!) 6KN ist großartig, keine Frage.
