Yes, I agree. And I'm still missing some sort of "synchronization".

You mean merging the LNG files of 2 translators into one? Difficult (depending on the input).

As I mentioned, I translated VueSoft's VueMinder Calendar. He created a really nice Translation Tool.

It allows to upload (send) the daily translation work to VueSoft:


And to download new translations and program changes, which automatically merges into my own language file:

Not really since I am still using TC:
1. I am not sure if "Lifetime licence Pro" allows me to use XY on two PCs (home and work/corporate). I am not willing to get more of it for myself, I would rather make a gift for a friend. Two people with 1 key each are better for any software than 1 person with two keys :)
2. I have hundreds of work folders with descript.ion files within.
3. I don't want to use just one file manager all the time - it makes you more close minded.

You can use XY (with one license) on any number of PCs as long you are the one using it.

OK, a bit stupid on my part but could be an issue for someone else.
When I first tried another language (Help>select language) just for fun/curiosity sake, after a while I didn't know how to revert back to english because:
1) There was no option to select english language.
2) I didn't know the option "Remove language on restart" even exists because it's in a language i don't understand.

You think the option "Remove language.." should be in english too (apart from the language I am looking at)?

Also, its not fair that reverting back to english requires a restart while switching between other languages is on-the-fly.

Well, I think about it. I tried several times to add a quick toggle between English and the loaded language, but always failed. I might trrrrry again...

Seems so, but: Once a language is loaded much of the original English is gone! (I always spare memory where I can, so why keep English in the memory when you only see Polish?) So there is no way to go back to English without either a restart or loading English.lng (which is identical to Reference.lng). Should I publish English.lng? Naah, this would just confuse users.

Sorry but I don't see why it'd be confusing as it thus would appear to allow an easy switch back to English...that makes up for any worse confusion when one can't get back to original easily...and keeping only the EN.LNG file is often what I do when installing software that litters my HDD with numerous LNG files....

I basically agree with serendipity and J_c_hallgren.

In my view, it is an absolute must to have a menu item like "Back to factory language (English)". As far as I understand, after another language has once been selected it is hard to reactivate the "from code strings" (due to technical architectural issues). Therefore I think that Reference.lng should remain under the name Reference.lng (since an English.lng could be a user's special creation) and always be distributed together with both exes and used automatically for reverting to factory default language.

It might really be a good idea to not translate that menu item in other .lngs

It's universally the right-most menu, isn't it? That should be enough.

Someone who is co-host on TWIT podcast put Leo Laporte's cell phone to another lang as prank some time back -- he had to reset it to get it back as i recall and wasn't happy -- it can be an evil thing to do on any device!
