Presently, when you start typing, it tries to select the folder or file starting from the first alphabet if there is a match, provided that you type very fast. Normally max you can make use of is first 2 characters.
It would be good to be able to locate files or folders that have a string in them (needn't begin with) when you start typing on the pane. This should happen when another button such as ALT is pressed down to indicate the user is trying to search or locate a file in the folder.
The folder with the list of files/folders in it needn't be such that it is sorted based on name, but it should highlight or display in some color all those are matching the field.
This is similar to the visual filter, but must faster and conveniently. Let's say I want to locate and a open a file and remember a string inside the name of the file (a video file with very long name in which I remember). Instead of going through mutliple steps of using the visual filter, when I am on the tab pane, I should be able to type and locate it asap.
