Mouse over highlighting (Explorer like)

Post by Gogolo »

Hi

XYPlorer is great, but every time I use the explorer on Win7 I think: "Oh, this folder highlighting when I move the mouse over is very nice and helpful". It helps alot for a straightforward browsing. A feature a lot of websites (included the threads in this forum) have now.

This feature would be great for XYPlorer.
Thanks
Olivier

"folder highlighting"??

My windows explorer doesn't highlight anything when I hover with the mouse over a directory / file.

EDIT:
Ok, ignore that comment. It's an "Aero" feature. Not visible if Aero is switched off.

Are you talking about the IE Explorer (and you mean url links that you're hovering over)?
I see it myself when using Windows 7 in Aero mode.

Aero mode
Ic. That's the first thing I remove (switch off) after logging in a new users account ;)

Yeah I also disable all aero features except this one. I think highlighting is not a gimmick...

I take a mental note that this has been wished. I don't think though, the demand is high.

I personally find it distracting and the highlighting (mouseover, focus, selection) in Win7 Explorer (resp. aero shell in general) is generally a disaster IMO, like the whole Win7 UI. Probably a sign of paradigmatic change: Computers started out competing with calculators, then typewriters, and now telephones.

Daymn, I'm used to it from Explorer. It's a great feature that helps with long lists in high resolution !

Consider "Full row highlighting on mouse over" please ! Well, it's gonna need its own color entry, too, I guess :ugeek:

Simply use zebra striping.

It's better with zebra, but still, how can you let an explorer feature slip from XY ?

Nothing gets forgotten. Some things get postponed.
