But now OK works as cancel as long as you don't select something.
Then OK would mean cancel if nothing happened to be auto-selected, else that would be opened.
I think even more strange than before.
On the other side: no risk to damage something in this case - in both situations you return to the configuration level, only on different positions...
Menu navigator (search and execute)
Re: Menu navigator (search and execute)
It's not strange, it's logic. If there isn't anything I can jump to, "OK" executes an empty option (and Don, in that case it should just open the last visited page without highlighting anything). Then OK would mean cancel if nothing happened to be auto-selected, else that would be opened.
I think even more strange than before.

Re: Menu navigator (search and execute)
"Close" seams to say "do nothing" - that's not correct.grindax wrote:My opinion is that I generally agree with highend. But to remove any confusion, I'd take away the OK and Cancel buttons, and simply replace them with a single one called 'Close'.
Name them GoTo and Cancel, disable GoTo until exact 1 item is selected, and maybe swap the default from Cancel to GoTo, when one item is selected?
Re: Menu navigator (search and execute)
No. The topmost entry of the list entries should always be highlighted. So if you have more than onedisable GoTo until exact 1 item is selected
entry that is shown and you don't select a different one the first highlighted entry will be executed. No need to
enable / disable buttons.
