Ability to disable empty folder indication

Post by Mesh »

Personally, I'm not of fond of the new "This view is empty" and similar indication text. I prefer to actually have an empty list be empty.

The other scenarios, where there are hidden items, I feel is best handled via the Status Bar.

While I would love it if this feature would work that way, in the interim, is it possible to disable the indication text?

I am in total agreement! I kept up with the latest betas on a daily basis for several years until this 'feature' was added. Now I have settled on V9.90 because I don't want my empty folders to tell me they are empty. I just want so see 'nothing.' It would be so great if there was a way do disable/enable this 'feature' in user settings. People who like to see 'This view is empty' (when it is obvious) could still do so. Others could revert back to an 'empty' folder view.

Agreed. It's a small thing, all things considered, but flexibility for the UI is not a bad thing.

It's simple enough to put a flag in the config file. Maybe if Don can't sleep one night, he'll be bored enough to put this in for people who prefer that empty means empty. :)
