1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Admin.ini Does Not Play Well with Fresh Installs.

Post by SkyFrontier »

Message: 'Visible' property can't be set on this control.
Admin setting:
profile=504
Xy simply shuts after displaying the error message.
Tested on latest beta - 9.60.0109.
Wondering if it's a "registered users"-only feature or a bug...

Another little glitch (for the records, if anyone stumbles upon this):
the previous value (profile=504) leads to XY not showing icons for UDC scripts (verified in v9.60.0109). This was solved in the next version with this change (that solves the OT proposition, by the way):

Code: Select all

v9.60.0110 - 2010-10-27 11:37
! Admin Settings: A profile with eAPHide_User_ManageUDC (8) but no
UDCs defined in udc.dat lead to a startup error. Fixed. From now
on the "Manage Commands..." item is not hidden but disabled.
@Don: is this a transitory solution? I mean: I'd really not want the "Manage Commands..." being displayed at all...
Thank you.

Ok, thanks.
Perhaps it comes in time when my setup aiming usage for this is done...

Somewhat related, but this time goes for actual, working installs, too: recent v9.80.0007 feature on "admin settings" (remote lic) refuses to work properly, popping a standard "xyplorer.exe found a problem and must be closed". I've tried everything: adding spaces between [Settings] / [Register] (in respective files, of course) and required values, putting lic details inside "<..>", renaming both file and file entry on admin.ini from custom to "Lic.ini", renaming "admin" to "Admin", adding a "profile" entry into "admin".
Please advise.

Please read the instructions carefully again. If still problems, please send your Admin.ini and Lic.ini to me.

Yes, the was a slightly false analysis. Next version should fix it. Thanks!

Almost there...
Now it works with C:\xyplorer_9_80_0008_beta_noinstall\Data\_RES\Temp\lic.ini but not with <xydata>\_RES\Temp\lic.ini...
Suggestion (I know, you've seen that before): Lic could be named as something a little bit less attractive, like Par (evoking "parameter"), or even better: user defined inside xyplorer.ini (same goes to the "profile" entry and any other future sections inside Admin.ini.
Thanks!
