Unable To Write To Ini File=All Settings Lost

Hello,

I get this error from time to time, unable to write to ini file, that results in XY losing all my settings.
The only thing that never gets lost in the Catalog.

I have a recent back up of both the Appdata and Install directory but even using those has no effect.

I am on Seven x64.

Anything can be done or I have to reset everything every time?

That's weird: if it's a permissions problem, it would either work always or never. The one thing that might explain it is if your appdata was written with elevated privileges and you alternate between running XYplorer elevated and non-elevated?

A fix might be to create a new folder in the root of C: or preferably another (data) partition and have XYplorer (through startup.ini) use that new folder.

No I think it's this retarded Windows problem "There are insufficient system resources to complete the task" that I get from time to time and that doesn't even let you shut down applications.

I have researched it several times but have yet to find a solution but it's a known issue.

Is there any way to recover my settings since I have backup copies?

But I am just guessing here since XY is the only application that looses all data and the instance you mentioned, elevated-non elevated, wasn't the case.

Might be that might be not.

Anyway I was not much interested in the tech cause for the problem but if I could recover the config having good back-ups of it.
