It doesn't. In a hurry among tasks and I tried to be as visual as possible - and made things worse! Will revise later, but it seems that Don has already made the magic so no problem. Sorry and thanks for both of you!SkyFrontier: So how does my proposal differ from yours exactly? In as few words as possible, ok?

Nice! we got this after 3 years? Definitely like it better this way. Still better would be all 3 toggles.

Yeah, but my question stands: "When do you rename an extension? Once a year maybe?"serendipity wrote:Nice! we got this after 3 years? Definitely like it better this way. Still better would be all 3 toggles.

Re: Switch to Include/Exclude File Extensions on the Fly.
Regarding
- wouldn't it be natural to expect:
Name+ext > Name > THEN Caret to the end?
I'd like to question if this was intended, sincev9.30.0024 - 2010-07-30 18:43
* List | Inline Rename. Now it's a three-step circle when you
repeatedly press F2 on a filename with extension.
1) select, extension excluded
2) select, extension included
3) unselect, caret to end
Code: Select all
Exclude Extensions on Rename TICKED:
Name > Name+ext > Caret to the end.Code: Select all
Exclude Extensions on Rename UNticked:
Name+ext > Caret to the end > NameName+ext > Name > THEN Caret to the end?

I don't think there are that many expectations here since nobody else has this feature. The way I did it was the most economic to code, so in a way the universe expected it like this.
