Customize spacing between thumbnails?

Post by TsunamiZ »

How about add an option to customize spacing between thumbnails? So that we can choose how closely thumbnails are displayed next to each other. Personally, I want to be able to optimize my use of screen space and pack my thumbnails within only 2 pixel spacings [like the way I can in XnView image browser/viewer]...

BTW: Currently, the default XYplorer thumbnail spacing doesn't work very well. When I make the thumbnails smaller, there is a lot of space between thumbnails. The opposite happens when I make thumbnails bigger. Perhaps this can be fixed by making it customizable?

Its there in XYplorer BETA version (v8.80.0101, 05-feb-2010).

Code: Select all

+ Thumbnails: Now the minimum column width for thumbnails is
configurable. Before it was hardcoded to 120 pixels. To change it
use menu View | Columns | Grow/Shrink Name Column (default KS
Ctrl+Shift+Numpad Add/Subtract) when in thumbnails view, which
will change the width by 4-pixel steps.
      Notes:
      - This is a global values for all thumbnails views of all
        lists in all panes.
      - The real column width will be larger than the minimum column
width if the thumbnails would be cropped otherwise. Actually the
column cannot get smaller than the current thumbnail width + 12
pixels because of the hardcoded margins around the preview.

thanks for the tip. but the minimum is currently at 4 pixels between thumbnails. i would prefer to go even thinner to 2 pixels to better optimize screen space. can that be possible?

i also notice a problem with the hotkeys Ctrl+Shift+Numpad Add/Subtract. overpressing Subtract will make the commands go into a "negative zone" which will require extra pressing of Add to bring it back to function.
